The Rapid Fire Book Tag

*Hello friends! It's time for another book tag. This one was fun to put together and a lot of the questions were hard to pick one or the other. In most cases, I ended up picking both. Because, well, it's me. 😅Anyway, if you need a break for a few minutes, check out this post.

1. Ebook or physical book?

- Definitely physical. I only read ebooks when I have to.

2. Paperback or hardback?

- Hardback 100%. I find them easier to read and they are so pretty.

3. Online or in-store?

- Online for sure. It's just more accessible for me.

4. Trilogies or series?

- Trilogies. I used to love series but after reading Throne of Glass I've found that I have no urge to read a series that long.

5. Heroes or villains?

- Heroes. I just can't usually get on board with the bad guys.

6. A book you want everyone to read?

- Red Rising by Pierce Brown! I love this series. And, yes, I know it's widely popular but it's so good!

7. Recommend and underrated book.

- The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. I LOVE this series so much! I can't wait for the next book to release.

8. The last book you finished?

- The Wren Hunt by Mary Watson

9. The last book you bought?

- Foundryside by Robert J Bennett

10. The weirdest thing you've used as a bookmark?

- A hair tie.

11. Used books: Yes or No?

- Yes, but only if the cover is out of print and it's in really good shape. Used books tend to smell odd and you never know how clean the person that owned it before you was. I've come across some very mysterious (and gross) stains in books. 😶

12. Top three favorite genres?

- Fantasy, Scifi, and historical fiction.

13. Borrow or buy?

- I borrow books from my library if I don't want to spend the money on them. But, ultimately I buy most of the books I read.

14. Characters or plot?

- Both! A good story requires both characters and plot. Not saying that all books with both are good but it's necessary to have both in a book.

15. Long or short?

- I prefer long books. Short books tend to fall short for me....lol. For me, a book needs to be at least 350-400 pages long for me to consider it.

16. Long or short chapters?

- Definitely short! They help the story go by much faster. And since I'm always getting interrupted while reading short chapters are much preferred.

17. Name the first three books you think of...

- Red Rising, Sorcery of Thorns, Winterwood

18. Books that make you laugh or cry?

- A good book does both. I don't want to read a book that only makes me laugh and I don't want to read a book that only makes me cry.

19. Our world or fictional worlds?

- Fictional! I read to escape so books written in our world don't really interest me. Unless they have magical elements to them like Harry Potter or Shadowhunters. I'm also a fan of dystopian novels.

20. Audiobooks: Yes or No?

- No for the most part. I do enjoy listening to Harry Potter on audio and I have the audiobook edition of A History of Magic narrated by Natalie Dormer and I LOVE it.

21. Do you ever judge a book by it's cover?

- Yep. All. The. Time. If I don't like the cover I won't read it.

22. Book to movie or book to tv adaptions?

- I love the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings adaptions but I think a tv series could provide much more detail.

23. A movie or tv show you preferred to its book?

- I can't really weigh in on this. I don't watch a lot of movies or tv shows.

24. Series or stand-alones?

- Depends. I love a series and most times stand-alones aren't long enough to satisfy me. I do have some stand alones that I've really enjoyed like, Winterwood and The Wren Hunt.

That's it for this tag! I hope you had some chill time reading this post. See you next time.

Happy reading,
