The worst books I read January - March 2020.

I don't feel that I should have to do this but just to save face... The following books were just not for me. We are all so different and unique that it should go without saying that we like different things. We like AND dislike different things in the same book. If you enjoyed any of these books I'm so happy for you!

Books I dnf'd.

I barely made it into this one before I just could not. The writing was bad. The characters were boring. And I just didn't have it in me to read it.

I gave this one a shot twice. Each time I set it down because I was bored with it.

I gave this one about 25% before I had to stop reading it. It was brutal. The author was trying to incorporate too many different writing styles. It felt like a taco salad. I also didn't care one bit for either of the main characters.

I read the first chapter and couldn't stand the main character. Decided to keep the book because it's beautiful, I got the Fairyloot edition, but I don't want to read it.

I started this book a loooooong time ago and never got back to it. I decided that I didn't want it hanging around anymore so I unhauled it as well.

Books I unhauled.

(I'm not linking these because that would take a really long time and it would be much easier for you to just Google it or look it up on Goodreads.)

There may have been more, but this is all I could find that I had written down. I know it seems like a lot but I know I wasn't going to read these and why hang on to books you aren't going to read??

Books I purchased January - March 2020.

I started off the year really good! I wasn't buying too many books. Only new releases that I wanted to get my hands on. And then book box companies kept having sales or putting special editions of books I'd been wanting into their shops. So I kinda went overboard. Especially in March. *insert shoulder shrug*

- A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Fairyloot UK edition)
- A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Barnes and Noble special edition)
- Angel Mage (So I bought two copies of this book. I first got it from Barnes and Noble because they had it on sale. Then LitJoy Crate put their special edition in their shop so I kinda had to buy that one.... If you see my Unhaul List I put the duplicate copy there.)
- The Guenivere Deception (Owlcrate edition)
- Eragon (Signed copy from Barnes and Noble)
- Darkdawn (Waterstones Exclusive)
- Heart of Flames (Owlcrate special edition)
- Suite Française ( I had to purchase a new copy of this book because my original was missing around 30 pages.)

Here's where the real trouble starts. March was a bad month for book purchases.... 🙈
- Angel Mage (LitJoy Crate special edition)
- Winterwood (Litjoy Crate special edition. I already owned and read this book. I loved it so much I HAD to have this copy.)
- The Shadows Between Us (Fairyloot February 2020 box)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses (Collectors Edition)
- House of Earth and Blood (Waterstones Exclusive)

This was fun! I always think its a good idea to look back and see what it is that you've accomplished. It's also a great way to see your preferences when it comes to books.

Quick recap.

Books Read: 18
5 Star Books: 4
4 Star Books: 3
Books I dnf'd: 5
Books I unhauled: 25 unread/ 34 total
Books I purchased: 25

I know this looks like I didn't get anywhere with my unread shelf but I'm not counting 2020 purchases as part of my unread shelf. And also, a lot of these are duplicate copies or books I've already read but didn't own. Overall I bought 20 unread books and I've read 6 of them.

Happy reading friends,
