Initial Thoughts:

- What a delightfully witchy read!
- I adored the two main characters
- This book has excellent wintry, spooky, witchy vibes and I am HERE for them.
- I loved the ending of this book.

“No one sees that I have just as many wounds as everyone else. That I too am a little broken.”― Shea Ernshaw, Winterwood
“Because I am more darkness than girl. More winter shadow than August sunlight.”― Shea Ernshaw, Winterwood
She is just a girl.
With raven hair and crush-your-heart-in-half eyes.”― Shea Ernshaw, Winterwood

First of all, I adored Nora and Oliver. I loved them on their own and I loved their relationship with one another. I usually hesitate to fall for female main characters, but Nora had me from page one. And as soon as I met Oliver I knew he was important.

Winterwood is set in Oregon in a town called Fir Haven. It has deep roots and has existed basically forever. The atmosphere in this book was spot on and it pulled me in right away. It was so magical and wintery and I loved it. My only regret is that it was so short and I read it so fast!

I was gripped from the first page. I mean, a girl finds a boy in a creepy wood and he's alive? Sign. Me. Up. Obviously, there is a mystery that needs solving. This book can get intense but then everything works out in the end. I'll just say I was super invested in this one and I couldn't put it down.

Writing Style:

Shea's writing style is perfectly magical. It adds a lot of whimsy and mystery to the book. I found myself devouring her words. I couldn't get enough of them.

It goes without saying that I LOVED this book. It was a super quick read and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was enthralled from page one and hardly wanted to put it down. I mean, my family can make their own food right? 😂Anyway, if you are in need of a quick witchy read with winter vibes then you might consider checking out Winterwood. I highly recommend it!

*Rating: I gave Winterwood 5/5 stars based on my personal rating system.

Happy reading,
